Chicago Police Department Case # N/A

A resident of 420 West Belmont reported that there was a bomb outside her apartment door. As officers knocked on the resident’s door, she called 911 again to report that she was in the closet, on fire, talking to her dead ex-boyfriend, and she could hear the police knocking on her door. Officers concluded that there was no bomb, no fire, no ghosts and that the case was best suited for medical professionals. An ambulance transported the caller to Illinois Masonic Hospital for an evaluation.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
