A woman was strongarm robbed of her purse near the intersection of Clark and School (Aldine) around 2:30 this morning. The offender, described as a male, black, 5’7′ to 5’9″, 25 to 30 years old, with short curly hair, wearing a long sleeve tan shirt and dark pants, stole the woman’s Express clutch purse which contained $50 cash, debit cards, keys, and a black iPhone 4S. An ambulance was called to the area of the Wrigleyville Taco Bell to treat a man who had been badly beaten, then robbed by two vultures as he suffered from his injuries. The initial attack may have occurred near Smart Bar, 3730 N. Clark.
2:57AM
Callers reported that a robbery victim was chasing his two attackers northbound on Halsted past Addison. No officers were available to take the call. After subsequent calls to 911, an officer became available and took the victim’s report around 3:40AM.
The robbery occurred at Halsted and Cornelia, then the victim gave chase, pursuing the offenders north on Halsted, where they were last seen turning eastbound near Circuit nightclub. The attackers’ descriptions are:
1) male, black, 5’6″ tall, 140 pounds, long hair, red hoodie
2) male, black, 5’11” tall, 160 pounds, wearing black pants and a black sweater.
