BOOMERANG: Busted In Winter, Back in Summer

A 19-year-old Park Forest man who was arrested in January along with two alleged accomplices for robbing a man at Belmont and Sheffield is back in the neighborhood, enjoying this wonderful weather we’re having. And taking part in a 13-on-one beating. Allegedly, of course.

In the January attack, our migrating jailbird and two accomplices beat their victim to the ground and reached into the man’s pockets to remove his valuables, according to police. Quick action by our 19th district officers landed the perps in jail that night.

At 7:20PM last night, 911 received a call reporting that 13 offenders—10 black men and 3 white men—were beating a lone victim near Addison and Fremont, which just happens to be the location of the 19th district police station.

Within minutes, the 19th district station desk officers radioed that the victim of the beating had walked in to report the attack.

A desk officer gave detailed descriptions of two of the alleged offenders:

– A male, black, about 20 years old, 5’9″ tall, wearing a white t-shirt, and carrying a skateboard

– A male, black, who was identified by name, about 20 years old, with a muscular build

The perpetrators were last seen running eastbound on Addison from Fremont Street.

This battery is recorded under Chicago Police Department case #HW399265

The next generation of 19th district arrestees is already getting their feet wet. According to 19th district police dispatches, a man who was simply walking down the sidewalk on the north side of the district yesterday evening was approached three black women, one of whom blasted him in the face with pepper spray.

Maybe “women” is not the right word since two of the attackers are described as being around 12 years old and the third is about 8 years old.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
