GETTING THE RUNAROUND: Two Foot Chases End Well

A couple of CWB readers have asked about a large police response that was seen in the area between Halsted and Broadway on Cornelia Avenue around 11:15 last night. They were responding to assist with a foot chase after a man fled from police when they ran his ID during a street stop.

The 22-year-old, who was arrested for domestic battery in July 2012 and criminal damage to property in April 2013, was wanted by authorities.

After fleeing eastbound on Brompton, the man was eventually found under a car at 734 W. Cornelia.

Another foot chase had officers searching the alleys in the area of the Einstein Brothers Bagel shop at Clark and Cornelia for a suspect who was involved in a minor narcotics matter. The incident ended successfully nonetheless when the man was apprehended in the alley at 3462 N. Sheffield.
