SOUGHT: One Man Suspected In Three Area Batteries This Afternoon

19th district officers are looking for a man who is suspected in three batteries stretching from the Irving Park Brown Line station to Belmont and Sheffield this afternoon.

The first incident, recorded as a domestic battery at the Irving Park Brown Line station, 1816 W. Irving Park Road, was reported at 2:21 this afternoon. The female victim was reportedly bleeding after being struck in the head. (CPD case #HW437337)

Four minutes later, callers reported that a man boarded a CTA bus at Irving Park and Ravenswood, then punched the driver before fleeing eastbound. (CPD case #HW437341)

At 3:15 this afternoon, workers at a business on the corner of Belmont and Sheffield reported that a man was threatening employees. The situation escalated into a physical attack. Witnesses at Belmont and Sheffield were shown a photo of the Irving Park suspect. They believe the same man was involved.  (CPD case #HW437403)

Witness descriptions report a male, either black or Hispanic, 5’8″ tall, 140 pounds, wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans, and possibly a light colored baseball cap that says “Crooks” on it. One of the victims identified the man as “Kevin Britton” with a possible birth date of August 8, 1982.

Online data base Mugshots.com includes a photo taken by Cook County authorities of a man identified as Kevin Britton with the same birthdate and general physical description. Note that the suspect in today’s cases is described as having short hair.
