STILL THE VERY BEST: When It Comes To Robberies

Want to get robbed? You’ve come to the right place!

As we reported last weekend, Wrigleyville and Boystown was awash in robbery reports early last Saturday.

Today, we are getting a glimpse of how bad it was.

The city is beginning to put last weekend’s crime data online. So far, it appears that the entire city of Chicago had 13 robberies between midnight and 5AM on August 24.

Four of the morning’s 13 robberies were reported in the our district–that’s 31%–and three of the four fell within the infamous beat 1924.

All four 19th district robberies occurred within a 35 minute time span, between 2:15AM and 2:50AM, according to city records, which you can review by clicking “read more.”

PSSST! None of the city’s 13 robberies took place in an alley!

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
