BLOTTER: Wednesday Night

A rather calm night in our part of town:

School Street Intruder
A woman in the 1300 block of W. School street reported that an unknown man tried to come through her apartment window at 2:00AM, but she scared him off. The offender, described as a black male with long hair wearing a white shirt with red and blue stripes, fled in an unknown direction. No report was filed.

Swingers
Police and an ambulance responded to Cornelia and Halsted in response to reports of people fighting at 4:10AM. Officers say the two parties went their own ways and the ambulance drove off.

About an hour later, there were two calls from citizens who happened upon beating victims in the same area: one caller found a Hispanic male beaten in the 700 block of W. Cornelia. The other caller reported two beat-up Hispanic men in their 20’s were outside of Little Jim’s tavern at Cornelia and Halsted.

It is not clear if the victims are related to the 4:10 fight report.

And, Finally…
Some dispatcher humor from Sunday afternoon:

EMS is going to 3600 North Ashland at the Citgo gas station for a 53-year-old male who says he feels like jumping in front of a car. . . .Drive carefully.

An ambulance transported the man to a hospital for evaluation.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
