HALSTED: Man Jumped Near Lucky Horseshoe Lounge

A passer-by reported what he believed to be a robbery in progress on Halsted Street, just south of Belmont, at 10:50 last night.

The caller reported three to four offenders jumping on and trying to rob an apparently intoxicated victim outside of 3159 N. Halsted. The witness said the offenders were black men. One was wearing a red shirt or jacket and another wore a black jacket.

Officers arrived quickly and ran records checks on two individuals. One arrest was made, although the exact nature of the arrest is not clear.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
