REBOOT: Cops Track Down iPad Thieves In Boystown

More nice work to report today by 19th district officers who tracked down two iPad thieves in the neighborhood around 11:30AM.

A caller reported that two men had stolen an iPad from a building in the 3300 block of N. Sheffield.

The first offender was described as male, black, about 20 years old, 5’11” tall, with a dark complexion and dreads. His accomplice, also a male, black about 20 years old, was a bit shorter and he had an orthopedic boot on one leg.

Officers located the suspects on Belmont near Halsted. The offender who was able to run did so, but not for long. He was caught and arrested outside of the Marshall’s department store at 3160 N. Halsted. No chase was required for the suspect with leg trouble.

The victim’s iPad was recovered and returned to its rightful owner.

This incident is recorded as a theft of under $500 in Chicago Police Department case #HW476453.
