Continuing a recent trend of robbers striking before midnight, a Lakeview woman was robbed at gunpoint just west of Illinois Masonic Medical Center at 10:50 last night. There has been no arrest.
The victim reported that the masked gunman approached her at Wellington and Kenmore, pulled out a black steel semi-automatic handgun, and took her iPhone and backpack. The backpack contained an iPad, cash, and the woman’s ID.
Police believe the suspect fled to the area of the Wellington Brown Line station.
Last night’s suspect is described as male, black, 5’6″ to 5’10 tall, wearing all black clothing and a black ski mask that only allowed the victim to see his eyes.
