CENTER OF ATTENTION: Cold Weather Doesn’t Slow Police Activity In One Part Of The Hood

This week’s cold weather kept a lid on much of the trouble we’ve come to expect around here. The 3600 block of Halsted remained active, though.

Group of men in the alley at Addison and Halsted are arguing. A Hispanic man dressed in all black is seen flashing a gun. A passing police Marine Unit stops a suspect and some companions outside of Whole Foods, 3640 N. Halsted. No gun is found.

“9 males” are creating a disturbance outside the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted, including a Hispanic male dressed in all black. Officers determine that it is the same group they stopped outside of Whole Foods. The group is told to move along. No report.

Thursday 7:32PM
A police unit on patrol reports a “small disturbance” at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted. No report.

Thursday 8:08PM
The Center on Halsted is holding a person for trespassing. Officers arrive to learn that COH security has escorted the man out of their building. No report.

Friday 6:14PM
An officer is flagged down outside of the Center on Halsted by a victim who says that “a man with a chain” threatened to beat him up. One arrest for aggravated assault. CPD case #HW544304.
