SORRY, WRONG COUNTRY: Rough Evening For Area Ne’er-Do-Wells

It was a rough couple of hours for some people who crossed paths with police officers in the neighborhood last night

A resident in the 900 block of Cornelia called police after a stranger continuously knocked on her door, repeatedly tried to open her apartment door, and refused to leave.

Officers encountered a 21-year-old Albany Park man upon arrival and ran a search for warrants.

Unfortunately for the man, who is of Indian decent, there is an outstanding administrative warrant for his removal from the United States due to immigration violations. He was taken into custody so that little matter can get fleshed out.

Earlier on Tuesday, a 21-year-old man who was stopped during an investigation of an alleged battery was taken into custody for a warrant at Halsted and Buckingham.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
