VANISHED: Victim Disappears, Battery Suspect Arrested On Warrant

Police on patrol encountered a man who said he was battered by four men near the intersection of Clark and Aldine/School Street at 7:25 this evening.

The officers caught up with the suspects, described only as male, black, and in their early 20’s, at Halsted and Buckingham moments later. Unfortunately, the alleged victim was gone when a unit returned to the original location for follow-up. No report filed.

While interviewing and checking IDs on the four suspects, officers found that one had a warrant out for failure to appear. That man was taken into custody while the warrant is researched.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
