QUIET WEEK: One Guy Punched At Five Guys

This has been a very good week to be out and about in the neighborhood. There have been few confirmed relevant incidents to report.
A couple of notes:
Just before 9 p.m. yesterday, a man called 911 after a panhandler who was begging outside of Five Guys, 3215 N. Broadway, punched him in the eye.
The offender, described as male, black, 45 years old, 5’3″ tall, 150 pounds, wearing a black and gray coat, was last seen walking south on Broadway.
Officers drove the victim around to look for the panhandler, without success. Simple battery case HX116083.
Tuesday 3:10 P.M.
An officer on patrol was flagged down by a CTA bus driver at Broadway and Barry. The driver needed help getting a man who refused to pay off of the bus.

Police spoke with the troublemaker and drove him to his requested destination: The Center on Halsted.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
