The Chicago man seen here is scheduled for reconstructive surgery today after an offender hit him in the face with a brick following Sunday’s Chicago Pride Parade.

Friends of the man have set up a web page to wish him well.

“This happened right in front of the Blarney Stone [at Newport and Clark],” a friend of the man told us. “Unfortunately, he now has to undergo reconstructive surgery for his broken jaw. Such a terrible story and sadly one of many from this weekend.”

The victim is said to be in good spirits, but his jaw was broken in at least two places, according to friends.

According to a supporter of the victim, he filed a police report after the offender fled in a taxi cab.

CWB is withholding the man’s name and the web site that his friends set up to voice their support. We wish him a full and speedy recovery.

About CWBChicago 4360 Articles
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
