BUSINESS ALERT: Burglars Breaking Through Doors And Glass In Lakeview & Lincoln Park

Five small businesses in Lakeview and nearby Lincoln Park have been burglarized in overnight break-ins this week.

The Lincoln Park burglaries were reported just doors away from two restaurants that suffered break-ins in late May.

The list of businesses affected includes:

– The Subway sandwich shop at 3706 N. Southport. The offenders made off with about $200 after breaking through the store’s back door sometime late Monday or early Tuesday morning.

– The Liberty Travel Agency at 2443 N. Clark. Offenders broke through the back door early Tuesday, pried open a small safe, and took about $100.

– The House of Wings, 2447 N. Clark. Offenders tried to break down the back door early Tuesday, but were apparently unsuccessful.

– The Subway restaurant at 2938 N. Broadway. Offenders entered by breaking the front door glass at 3:37AM on Thursday.

– The Lakeview Tobacco Store at 2657 N. Clark. Offenders entered the store by breaking out the front glass early Thursday.

The Clark Street businesses are very close to Ponzu Sushi at 2407 Clark and Orange restaurant at 2413 Clark which were burglarized on May 17 and May 29 respectively.

No one is in custody for the crimes.
