A teenager was shot to death Thursday afternoon near the Morse Red Line station, police said. No one is in custody.

The victim has been identified by a source as Quintin Brown, also known as “Lil DBoi.”

Police said in a statement that a 17-year-old boy was standing on the sidewalk in the 6900 block of North Glenwood when a gunman approached him and fired shots at 2:15 p.m.

Brown, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen, was pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.

A source said Brown was a member of PBG, a set of the Gangster Disciples street gang.

Brown said in a Facebook post early Thursday that he had two court appearances scheduled for later in the day.

“I’m Goin down I feel it but it is what it is,” Brown wrote.

The details of charges against Brown were not available because he was a juvenile.

His final Facebook entry, posted at 8:59 a.m. today, said simply, “SnitchK,” which means “snitch killer.” Brown’s profile on the social media page said he worked as a lifeguard for the Chicago Park District.

Police tonight could offer no description of his killer.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
