Police are investigating after a 54-year-old woman was pushed to the ground and robbed at knifepoint in the Loop on Wednesday afternoon.
The woman was walking on Lower South Water near Beaubien Court—that’s just east of Michigan Avenue—when she noticed a man following her. The offender reportedly displayed a knife, pushed her down, and demanded her valuables.
She said she chased the man for a short distance, but lost track of him after he ran into the nearby Metra station entrance.
The robber was described as being a black male in his late teens or early 20’s who stands about 5’6” tall. He was wearing a white T-shirt with gray sweatpants.
