The woman told officers that she was warming up her car when someone opened fire on her from a passing vehicle. She was not hit, but at least one bullet struck her car, police said.

Investigators found nine shell casings on the street. No description of the shooter or the vehicle they used is available.

Friday morning’s incident unfolded just steps from the 1300 block of North Hudson where a 42-year-old man was injured in a drive-by shooting on Nov. 3.

And on Oct. 24, a 25-year-old woman was shot as she walked on the 400 block of West Evergreen, just a few yards west of Friday’s scene.

Two other shootings have been reported recently within a block of Friday’s drive-by.

On Oct. 23, a drive-by gunman shot a 42-year-old man as he walked on the 1300 block of North Sedgwick.

And a 28-year-old man was shot in a drive-by as he walked on the 1300 block of North Sedgwick late on Nov. 22.

Prosecutors have not charged anyone with any of the shootings.

However, police did arrest 30-year-old Germany Garrett on a weapons charge during a traffic stop after the Oct. 23 incident. Investigators said surveillance cameras near the shooting captured images of his SUV leaving the shooting scene.

Prosecutors said a handgun was found in the SUV near Garrett. Arresting officers noted in Garrett’s arrest report that the shooting victim did not cooperate with their investigation, which prohibited the pursuit of additional charges.
