Investigators are looking for the man who robbed a Magnificent Mile currency exchange while dressed in a Chicago police uniform on Monday evening.

The robbery unfolded around 7:40 p.m. at Currency Exchange International, which is inside the Shops at North Bridge, 520 North Michigan.

Police said a man wearing a CPD baseball hat and blue uniform shirt with a reflective vest and a green surgical mask entered the business and demanded money while implying that he had a gun.

A 22-year-old employee handed over a bag containing about $2,700 worth of euros and British pounds, according to initial reports from the scene.

Police said the man is black, about 40-years-old, 6-feet tall, and 180 to 200 pounds. He may have met up with an accomplice who was waiting in a white car on the 500 block of Lower Michigan.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
