Sunday brought more reports of looting throughout Chicago, including within the downtown zone that is closed off to people who don’t live or work essential jobs within its boundaries.
But the no-go zone had another effect: Looting activity spread to neighborhoods, with Wicker Park shops taking a big hit. Early Monday, reports of looting continued with multiple reports coming from Lincoln Avenue in Lakeview and the Clybourn corridor in Lincoln Park. Police in those North Side neighborhoods made several arrests and recovered at least three handguns, according to initial reports.
