Detectives are warning residents about a pair of recent robberies in the Rogers Park neighborhood. Chicago police issue community alerts when investigators believe a person or group is responsible for a series of crimes.
Police said two victims have been approached from behind, battered, and robbed while walking in the neighborhood this month.
The first mugging took place on the 7500 block of North Winchester around 3:15 p.m. on June 5. Another was reported on the 7200 block of North Wolcott around 5 a.m. on June 17. Purses and phones were taken from the victims, police said.
The community alert listed descriptions of two suspects:
- female, Black, 16-18 years old, 5’7” tall, 120 pounds, with long hair
- male, Black, 18-21 years old, 5’10”, 150 pounds, wearing a hospital mask
