Update 8:50PM — CPD has confirmed that a police officer accidentally fired his gun while clearing the parking garage shortly after the shooting. No one was injured by the mistakenly-fired bullet, police said. The “accidental discharge” is under investigation.
Update 4:22PM — A graphic video of the scene shows a bleeding, semi-conscious man who resembles Lil Reese lying on the ground and another man, also shot, walking out of the garage. Bystanders are heard yelling about a stolen vehicle and repeatedly mentioning Lil Reese. In addition to being shot, Lil Reese was also beaten during a confrontation with other individuals, according to multiple sources. You can watch the video here. Also, Steven Graves of CBS2 has posted video of the crash site inside the parking garage.

Three men, including a well-known rapper, were shot Saturday morning at a River North parking garage, according to Chicago police and multiple sources. The incident involved a group of men who were “all shooting at each other,” according to a police spokesperson who cited preliminary information.
Police responded to calls of shots fired at 6 West Grand around 9:53 a.m. and found three victims with gunshot wounds, a CPD report said. A stolen Dodge Durango peppered with bullet holes was found crashed inside the garage. Video posted to Twitter shows officers arriving at the scene and detaining a man:
According to multiple sources, one of the shooting victims is Tavares Taylor, a 28-year-old rapper known as “Lil Reese.” The other two victims are a 20-year-old man and a 27-year-old man. According to authorities, two of the men are at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition, while the other is in serious condition at Stroger Hospital. Taylor’s condition was not immediately clear.
This is the second time Taylor has been shot in 18 months. On November 11, 2019, he was critically wounded when a man shot him in the neck in suburban Country Club Hills by a gunman armed with an AK47 assault rifle.
He later offered to sell the story of his shooting for $1 million.
CWBChicago will post updates as more information becomes available.
