A woman told police she was robbed of her shoes while waiting for her driver to return to their car after it ran out of gas on Lake Shore Drive early Sunday.

According to a CPD report, the 30-year-old was riding in a car with a male friend when it ran out of gas near Millennium Park around 2:56 a.m.

She stayed behind while her companion apparently went to get help.

While waiting for him to return, two men opened her car door and robbed her of her shoes, the woman said. They then fled toward the Loop. The woman told police she followed them on foot until they escaped in a ride share.

No arrests have been announced.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
