Chicago police hope the public will help them track down the man who sexually assaulted a woman at gunpoint in Noble Square on Friday night.

The attacker was riding a bike when he stopped to ask the 20-year-old for directions in the 1500 block of West Thomas around 11:30 p.m., according to CPD. As the woman tried to help him, the man pulled out a handgun and sexually assaulted her.

Police said the man’s bike was silver with green lettering or stripes. They said the offender was a Hispanic man between 18 and 25 years old. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and a blue facemask that covered his chin, CPD said.

Anyone with information about the man can call Area Three detectives at 312-744-8261 regarding case number JG-295162.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
