Chicago police are warning the public about two recent cases of sexual exploitation on a playground at Maggie Daley Park. Detectives said the same man may have been involved in both cases.
The most recent incident happened between 10:30 and 10:45 a.m. on Thursday.
Police said a 6-year-old girl was playing inside a wooden tower, and a man followed her to the top. There, he “performed a lewd act on himself,” a CPD alert said. It described him as “a possible Caucasian or light complexion adult male” with curly or wavy black and gray hair. He was wearing a gray t-shirt and blue jeans.
A similar incident was reported between 2:00 and 2:20 p.m. on May 25.
That time, a man led a 4-year-old girl to the top of the tower and exposed himself, according to the alert.
Police are encouraging adults to keep a close eye on children in the area and to instruct children to report anything suspicious to an adult right away.
Anyone with information about the incidents can contact detectives at 312-492-3810.
