Chicago police looking for man who raped woman as she returned to her Lincoln Park home

Chicago police are hoping someone will help them identify a man wanted for sexually assaulting a woman as she returned to her Lincoln Park home.

CWBChicago first told you about the attack on July 10. Now, CPD has released images of the man taken from CTA surveillance footage.

The 28-year-old woman arrived in the 1900 block of North Sheffield via rideshare around 3:29 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, according to a CPD spokesperson. As she walked up the stairwell to the second floor of her building, a man pushed her from behind, grabbed her by the neck, and sexually assaulted her, police said.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
