Home invaders pistol-whip, rob Lakeview man

CHICAGO — A Lakeview man was pistol-whipped, punched, and robbed by two people who forced their way into his home on Monday morning, according to Chicago police.

The two offenders apparently followed the man from near the Sheridan Red Line station around 2 a.m. As they walked, one of the robbers pointed a gun at the victim’s head and ordered him to go into his home with both offenders, a CPD spokesperson said.

Inside the apartment, the robbers hit the 23-year-old victim in the head with a firearm and fists before taking his belongings and cash, according to CPD. Police brought a Chicago Fire Department ambulance to the scene to treat the victim for minor injuries.

According to initial information, the two suspects are a Black man standing 6’2″ to 6’4″ tall and a heavyset Black female who’s about 5’6″ tall.

Area Three detectives are handling the investigation.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
