Gunman has robbed 7 businesses in 3 weeks, CPD says

CHICAGO — An armed man has robbed seven businesses, mainly in Logan Square, since November 13, Chicago police said in a community alert Monday.

The man usually walks in and either displays a gun, says he has a gun, or shows the butt of a handgun while demanding money from the register, police said. He threatens to shoot employees if they don’t comply with his demand.

After stuffing the business’ money into a black or white bag, he leaves the area on foot.

Area Five detectives said the man is responsible for robbing:

  • 7-Eleven, 2020 North California, at 8:29 p.m. on November 13

The alert described him as Hispanic, 23 or 24 years old, with a short haircut and sideburns. He wears a black ski mask, black sweatpants, and a black hoodie, police said. He’s about 5’1″ tall and 125 to 150 pounds.
