Man fatally shot on the Eisenhower Expressway

CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was shot and killed on the outbound Eisenhower Expressway overnight, officials said.

Chicago police initially responded to calls of a person shot in a vehicle on the Paulina Street Ramp at 3:27 a.m. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office, which identified him as Orlando Lofton.

Illinois State Police investigators took over the case. The ramp remained closed this morning as they did their work.

The state police have asked anyone who saw the shooting or may have other information about it to contact them at 847-294-4400. They can also email the agency at ISP.CrimeTips@Illinois.gov. Witnesses can remain anonymous, according to ISP.
