CHICAGO — A 13-year-old boy robbed a woman as she walked in the Old Town neighborhood on Wednesday evening, Chicago police say. It happened around 8:05 p.m. as the 36-year-old victim walked in the 300 block of West Schiller.

The boy approached the woman with his hand in his hoodie pocket, implying that he had a firearm, according to a law enforcement source. He ordered the woman to hand over her wallet and then ran away after getting it. The woman went to a nearby residential building and called for help.

Police officers searched the area and found the boy about 20 minutes later, near North Avenue and Sedgwick Street.

He is charged with aggravated robbery. No other information is available about the boy because he is under 18.
