CWB has secured surveillance images and video of a theft and robbery team that has taken large amounts of cigarettes and liquor from convenience stores downtown, in the West Loop, and in Avondale this month.
A robbery and theft team that has been raiding 7-Eleven convenience stores for cigarettes and liquor struck four more times within an hour on Thursday morning — twice downtown and two more times in Avondale. No arrests have been made.
A burglary crew targeted three T-Mobile stores across the North Side in about 15 minutes early Sunday, according to CPD reports. But it appears they only managed to get merchandise from one of the locations.
Two women were robbed and carjacked Thursday night in the Lakeview neighborhood, police said. Meanwhile, police issued a community alert after two carjackings were recently reported in the Avondale neighborhood.
Assistant State’s Attorney James Murphy speculated during a bond hearing for Juan Sanchez that the 37-year-old was looking for another woman to attack when Sanchez exposed himself to several female pedestrians while trolling North Side neighborhoods in his minivan this week.
