A CTA robbery suspect who was held at gunpoint has been charged by prosecutors. But no charges will be filed against the good Samaritan who held the accused man at gunpoint until police arrived.

Chicago police released images of three men who allegedly robbed a CTA passenger during a violent attack in the Loop last week.

An armed citizen held an alleged robbery offender at gunpoint following a violent robbery on a CTA train in the Loop on Wednesday morning, police said. Charges are pending against the offender, but the good Samaritan is not yet out of legal jeopardy.

The man said eight men attacked him on a Red Line train downtown, making him the latest in a series of CTA passengers to be victimized in the Loop.

Chicago police are investigating robberies at the Randolph and Jackson Red Line stations as well as the Quincy Orange Line platform.

Police followed pings from a GPS device hidden in the bank’s money, but they came up empty-handed. The FBI is offering a reward.
