A CTA robbery suspect who was held at gunpoint has been charged by prosecutors. But no charges will be filed against the good Samaritan who held the accused man at gunpoint until police arrived.
An armed citizen held an alleged robbery offender at gunpoint following a violent robbery on a CTA train in the Loop on Wednesday morning, police said. Charges are pending against the offender, but the good Samaritan is not yet out of legal jeopardy.
Police say multiple robbery victims identified Devin Wilder as the man who held them up in the Loop and West Loop last Wednesday evening. Wilder was an escapee from electronic monitoring at the time.
