Two carjackers brandished a rifle and a pistol to carjack a man in West Rogers Park early Tuesday. An hour later, they followed the same script to carjack a woman in the neighborhood.

Two men battered and carjacked a 67-year-old West Ridge man as he prepared to go to work early Tuesday morning, then fell asleep in a car next to the hijacked vehicle with the victim’s property in their pockets, prosecutors said.

A man is in critical condition following an apparently targeted shooting in West Rogers Park on Tuesday morning, according to police and a law enforcement source.

Prosecutors say a North Side man apologized to a Dunkin’ donut shop employee before he hopped the counter and robbed the place at knifepoint.
