Armed carjackers fired shots at a rideshare driver in Wicker Park and took his car Thursday evening, police said. Another motorist was hijacked at almost exactly the same time.

A Walgreens security guard exchanged gunfire Monday night with a man who stole his car, which he left running outside the Wicker Park store, according to a CPD report.

At least three ride-hail service drivers have been carjacked recently in the Wicker Park area by people who ordered rides through the Uber and Lyft apps, according to a new community alert from Chicago police.
