Chicago Police Department Case #HW255062

Street activity was heavy on the heels of Chicago’s first 80 degree day in 7 months. Things got so “interesting,” the police sergeant responsible for supervising Wrigleyville and Boystown  overnight activated an impromptu robbery mission team at 1:45am.

Mutliple street stops were conducted in the neighborhood during the mission and several people were interviewed. Among those stopped was a member of the La Raza street gang, whose most recent address is the Howard Brown Broadway Youth Center. It’s unclear how being on the street at 2:45AM advanced his “transition.”

In addition, the robbery team arrested two individuals at the intersection of Sheffield and Belmont at 3:50AM. Details of the arrest will be forthcoming.

UPDATE 9 MAY 2013 1:03AM: The two individuals arrested at Sheffield and Belmont were charged with criminal sexual abuse/public indecency for having sex on the sidewalk. This is Chicago Police Department case #HW255062.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
