Chicago Police Department Case #VICTIM DECLINED

A victim called 911 to report that a male, black, 5’9″ tall, wearing a black hoodie and a black Sox hat, stole his wallet at 820 W. Belmont (between Halsted and Clark), then fled eastbound on Belmont. As police drove the victim around the area in search of his attacker, the victim decided that he did not want to file a report. The search ended.

We’ve added this incident to our rapidly growing list of robberies that have not been documented with police reports.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
