Chicago Police Department Case #HW271670 & HW279744

There was at least one ray of light in last night’s police coverage of Wrigleyville and Boystown. Undercover officers spotted two occupied stolen cars on Fletcher Avenue at Sheffield.

Up to 8 suspects bailed out of the vehicles upon seeing the tact cops and a foot pursuit ensued. Four individuals were caught: one at 920 West Fletcher and three others near the Belmont L station.

Oh, yes, and one of the perpetrators whom we’ll call “TS” left his Illinois state ID in one of the hot cars. There’s been a knock on his door today.

The recovered vehicles are:

• A white 1999 Toyota four-door, which was stolen Saturday from the 4100 block of North Pulaski.

• A black 2008 Chevy Impala, stolen last Sunda from the 7100 block of South Halsted.

UPDATE 25 May 2013: Added second police case number.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
