Chicago Police Department Case #HW276360

A woman in her mid-20’s was beaten in an attempted robbery Wednesday night in the 3500 block of N. Pine Grove Avenue. 911 callers from as far as a block away reported that they could hear a woman screaming for help and a man’s voice screaming for her to be quiet.

The attackers were last seen fleeing eastbound on Cornelia Avenue in a dark minivan, possibly a Dodge Caravan, with its right tail light out and a temporary Illinois license plate.

Chicago Fire Department ambulance #80 took the victim to Illinois Masonic Hospital for treatment.

Witness descriptions of the punks:

ATTACKER #1: male, black, with short hair wearing a dark hat and black jacket.

GETAWAY DRIVER: Heavyset, black, with long dreads wearing a white t-shirt. Witnesses are not sure if the driver is male or female.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
