ACTUAL TRUTH: CAPS Meeting Detailed Online

Micro news site DNAInfo.com runs a detailed story about Wednesday’s Wrigleyville and Boystown CAPS meeting. It’s a good read.

“Crimes such as robberies and batteries in Lakeview have indeed increased in the past two years, and a violent summer in 2011 ignited tensions between various those offering [sic] youth services and other members of the community.”

Honestly like that is about as rare as white tiger sightings and CAPS officers agreeing to take polygraphs. We hesitate to call reports about the decline of our neighborhood “reassuring,” but we’ll go with that for now.

UPDATE 7 June 2013: DNAInfo has heavily edited the linked story, making it friendlier toward “youth” and CAPS statisticians.

About CWBChicago 4259 Articles
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
