MACED AT MARSHALLS: Shoplifters Pepper Spray Guards

When security guards at the Marshalls store, 3131 N. Clark, tried to stop two black male shoplifters, the thieves blasted the officers with pepper spray and fled south on Halsted Street. The offenders are both about 6-feet tall with short hair. One wore a bright blue shirt with a green Polo or Puma logo and the other wore a gray sweat shirt. They dropped all of the stolen merchandise as they fled. No arrests. Officers classified the matter as an aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon.
