Medical personnel are in great demand at today’s 44th Annual Gay Pride Parade. As of 3:15pm, there is a full page of calls for medical attention that are awaiting responses.
Even relatively serious calls are not being promptly answered.
A woman who suffered a seizure outside of Jersey Mike’s on Broadway near Belmont waited nearly an hour for medics to arrive, even though police officers on the scene repeated their request for an ambulance twice. Eventually, the woman’s friends picked her up and carried her to get treatment.
CWB is also aware of at least nine fifty sixty fights along and near the parade route, with the “Punkin’ Donuts” at Clark and Belmont hosting at least two incidents so far.
