Chicago Police Department Case #HW309450

That Chicago Police Department camera with the flashing blue light at Halsted and Aldine seems to have zero effect on crime. Rather, the light almost seems to attract trouble.

Once again this morning, the infamous Halsted and Aldine intersection was the scene of a strong armed robbery. A witness reports that three male, whites in a tan SUV beat and robbed their victim before fleeing eastbound on Aldine toward Broadway.

Officers gave the victim a ride to his Lincoln Park home after he was treated by paramedics.

It’s hard to believe, but this robbery victim managed to receive help while another robbery victim two blocks away continued his 45 minute wait for officers.

UPDATED 16 JUNE 2013: Added case number.

About CWBChicago 4363 Articles
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets.
