LIGHTER SIDE: What's A Guy Gotta Do To Get Arrested In This Town?

Thursday, 11 July 2013
3:42PM: A man who identifies himself as “Mr. Edwards” asked police officers to come to the Addison Red Line station because he wanted to turn himself in for stealing something from a house. Officers could not locate Mr. Edwards upon arrival. He is believed to be the same man who has been trying to turn himself in to desk officers at the 19th District police station for several days. Officers have been unable to arrest Mr. Edwards because, unfortunately, he is not wanted for anything.

11:52PM: A concerned citizen asked to have someone check the well-being of a woman in her mid-50s who was seen on the corner of Hawthorne Place and Lake Shore Drive, repeatedly hitting her head on a fence. The woman was gone when officers arrived.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
