THE BACK DOOR METHOD: Thief Snares Cash At Redmond's

As employees wrapped up their after-hours business at Redmond’s Ale House, 3358 N. Sheffield at Roscoe, they realized that they were missing some cash.

Police were called at 2:36AM and the mystery was quickly solved. Review of surveillance video showed the thief entered an area without authorization, took more than $500 and fled out the back door nearly two hours earlier, at 12:53AM.

Police describe the thief as a male, black, with a light complexion, 5’9″ tall, thin build, very short hair, wearing a white t-shirt with thin black horizontal stripes, a coral necklace, big earrings, and carrying a black book bag.

An evidence technician went to the scene and security video has been preserved by Chicago police in this matter, which has been classified as a burglary under case HW379412.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
