The latest round of transfer opportunities within the Chicago Police
Department shows 12 rare openings in our severely understaffed
district.

The Chicago Police Department on Friday posted 12 openings for officers who would like to transfer into the 19th district.

Eleven of our officers have transferred out of the 19th district already this year, so the incoming cops will bring us back up to where we started 2014.

Even with the replenishment, our district’s manpower has been cut by roughly 25% since October of 2011.

The department would need to transfer in an additional 112 officers to bring us back to the level of protection we received just 2 years ago.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
