OH THANK HEAVEN: 2 Questioned In 7-Eleven, Pizza Store Robberies

Two people—one man and one woman—are being held for questioning in a series of robberies across the city that made newscasts on Friday. The newscasts have been mentioning a 7-Eleven robbery on Lawrence and a Sarpino’s pizza robbery on the Near West Side in their stories.

19th district officers believe the male is also responsible for pulling a “sawed off rifle” or sawed-off shotgun in a robbery at another convenience store a little closer to home. CWB told you about that 7-Eleven robbery at Irving Park and Southport on Tuesday.

CWB has learned that officers recovered a firearm from a trash can near the Lawrence robbery scene around 9 o’clock last night. The gun had been stashed in a garbage can behind the 2200 block of Leland.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas.
