Thanks for visiting, pardner!

A Texas man who wrapped up his visit to Chicago with a few beverages on Sunday received a classic Lake View send-off: He was strong-arm robbed of his gym shoes.

The man, who had been drinking at Yak-Zies, 506 W. Diversey, returned to the bar at 11:50PM and reported that he had been robbed of his Brooks brand gym shoes on nearby Sheridan Road. People at the bar called police.

According to the victim, the offender was a black male with dreads, 5’11” tall, wearing a denim jacket and a purple hoodie.

Officers say the victim did not want to file a report because he has to fly back to Texas today.

CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
