Things have been relatively quiet around the armed-guard-protected Center on Halsted recently. That has changed, with at least three arrests being reported at the 3656 N. Halsted address since Wednesday afternoon.
• A man was arrested for assault at 1:50PM Wednesday after “threatening a patron inside.”
• Two were taken into custody for reasons yet to be determined at 3:23PM yesterday. The unit making the arrests very quickly became involved in a foot pursuit involving a third man who ran east on Waveland and then jackrabbitted across 8 lanes of Lake Shore Drive traffic into the park.
The runner was taken into custody after executing a poor attempt to look like a patch of grass near the park clock tower.
