RECAP: CWB’S Top Stories From The Weekend

• For the second consecutive weekend, police responded to a criminal sexual assault along the Wrigleyville bar strip. Police found the victim in Sunday’s assault across from Wrigley Field. She appeared to be unconscious. UPDATE: New information indicates that the victim lost consciousness near Sports World on the corner of Clark and Addison after the assault allegedly took place in the mens room of a nearby bar.

• Fights erupted on the streets throughout the overnight hours early Saturday and again early Sunday as people with nothing else to do hung out on area streets. Much of the trouble was centered on Belmont between Halsted and Sheffield. Of course.

• Off-duty officers reported a man wearing a ski mask and a swastika-spangled hoodie yelled anti-semitic threats at a kosher barbecue festival Sunday.

• The Wrigleyville crowd was understandably mellow following last night’s Blackhawks loss. Only one business had a window busted out this year.

About CWBChicago 4272 Articles
CWBChicago was created in 2013 by five residents of Wrigleyville and Boystown who had grown disheartened with inaccurate information that was being provided at local Community Policing (CAPS) meetings. Our coverage area has expanded since then to cover Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, Uptown, and other North Side Areas. But our mission remains unchanged: To provide original public safety reporting with better context and greater detail than mainstream media outlets. Our editorial email address is news@cwbchicago.com
